ABSTRACT
The
main aim of this research study is to critically analyze “Manpower Training and
Development: A Tool for Enhancing Employee Productivity in Federal Polytechnic
Mubi”. The availability of manpower training in any organization is important
for national development, manpower calls for greater effort in its field of
manpower training and development. The researcher used available textbooks,
journals and literature review, the bulk of literature in this research work.
The researcher reveals the problems of manpower training as lack of finance and
interest of some staff towards training programme. The methodology used in gathering
of data was questionnaires which were distributed to the respondents. Based on
the data analysis, the researcher came out with the following findings, that
there is inadequate finance to successfully execute training and development
programme. That the training actually improves staff performance in the
organization. Based on these findings, the research gave the following
recommendations, the employees of the institution should be given adequate
training, pay adequate salary scale and training allowances to the staff
according to their qualification. The analysis of the responses shows that, the
Federal Polytechnic Mubi effectively carryout its training and development
programme. Also analysis of the questionnaires responses has assured us that
when training and development are effectively carried out, the positive result
is those employees are motivated.
